Transformation Tuesday 2-10-15

Today’s ‪#‎TransformationTuesday‬ is Lifestyle member Eleanor Pendergraft! Here’s what she had to say:

“I’m 79-years-old and have a wonderful life. I live on Social Security, but I began to really live just a few years ago. For over 20 years, I was very disabled by multiple sclerosis. I had to use a walker or wheelchair. I could only drive a car with hand controls because I couldn’t lift my feet to use the pedals, and my condition was getting worse. But I decided that I was not going to be a “couch potato” for the rest of my life. I joined the Tri-Cities Lifestyle Center in 2008, working out 6 or 7 days a week, gradually increasing my exercise levels. A year later I walked my first 5K race and later entered the Senior Olympics in track and field and road racing. Since then, I’ve competed in National Senior Games in 2011 and 2013, winning a medal and placing in several events. I race most weekends with a track club and am still winning awards, even after having both knees replaced a couple of years ago. I have now qualified in 14 events in track and field and road racing for the July, 2015, National Senior Games in Minnesota.”
